Mushroom And Mozzerella Pizza




After presentations we will make a mushroom (optional) and mozzarella pizza. The ingredients and recipe are inspired by the blog A Beautiful Plate

Ingredients:

Dough: You can make the dough from scratch using the ingredients listed below, or you can use pre-made dough. We will use ready made.
  •  2 and 1/2 cups (300 grams) unbleached all-purpose flour
  •  1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  •  1/2 teaspoon of dry yeast
  •  3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  •  7 ounces warm water (105 degrees F – 115 degrees F)
  •  1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  •  2 tablespoons semolina or all-purpose flour, for the pizza peel (divided)
Sauce: The sauce will be pureed and simmered in a pot over a medium flame before pizza assembly. 
  •  1 cup pureed or crushed  canned tomatoes/freshly pureed tomatoes/bottled sauce
  •  2-3 fresh garlic cloves, minced 
  •  1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  •  1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  •  2-3 large pinches of kosher salt
Toppings:
  •  7 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/2-inch cubes (*preferably fresh mozzarella not packed in water)
  • basil leaves/ dried basil
  •  crushed dried red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup of sliced mushrooms
Steps to assemble a pizza:

1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and place the rack at the very top.
2. Shape the dough and brush with oil.
3. Pre-bake the dough for three minutes.
4. Spread your sauce on the dough.
5. Add toppings.
6. Bake the pizza for 8 to 11 minutes until golden.
7. Remove from the oven and add any garnishes, such as red pepper flakes.
